Since November 2008 there has been more than 500 costumes across the LittleBigPlanet series. From cats and dogs to Muppets and dinos. Licensed content and original design a-plenty! Some great, some… not so great. Here’s our top 5 costumes in LittleBigPlanet history. Do you agree with our picks? What are your favourites?
Teaming up with thatgamecompany to bring us Journey’s robed protagonist was a great move. For starters, we love indie games on Playstation (Especially the critically acclaimed ones!) Secondly, they did a brilliant job miniaturising the traveller’s outfit to fit Sackboy. This just works, doesn’t it?
Octodad is one of the standout unique games to come out over the past few years, so it was fantastic to see it come to Playstation and eventually get it’s own LittleBigPlanet costume as part the indie games pack. Also, it has a special place in our hearts here at Sackinima as you can trace the origins back to a tweet from our very own ARD (Cogmonkey)!

3. Rare Prize Crown
Yes. I went there. It’s the rare prize crown. Reserved for competition winners and members of the community who have spent hours upon hours slaving over a hot controller/keyboard and mouse/canvas/whatever other hot appliance they may have been using at the time to bring something a little extra to the community. The rare prize crown is certainly one of the most sought after costume pieces in LittleBigPlanet to this day and I think it deserves a spot here in the top 5!
The spacesuit was one of the first ever downloadable costume in the first LittleBigPlanet game all those years ago. It has most certainly stuck with me as an iconic costume for Sackboy and obviously the devs felt the same way, introducing the spacesuit outfit for the rest of the Bunkum heroes in LittleBigPlanet 3!
This might be controversial, but come on! I can’t be the only one that thinks it is hilarious running around as a derpy dog tank! #PetGoals
